View Full Version : VDS_WIN03E Browser Login Broken

I'm using AppLogic 2.4.6 and connecting to a running windows application via the graphical login option on the AppLogic toolbar. I'm using Firefox 3.0.1. The window is very small (can't even see the taskbar) so I try to resize it. The console locks up and displays garbage:

Unfortunately, the initial state of the window isn't really usable as it is small enough that the "Manage Your Server" dialog covers the whole area and goes off the edge.

Any ideas?

My suggestion is to try upgrading FF and your Java to the latest and greatest versions -- the VNC console seems to be very sensitive to those two.

Once Windows is up and running, Remote Terminal is better to use -- so the console is mostly for initial install and troubleshooting the boot process (which may be where you are).

If by Remote Terminal, you mean Remote Desktop, I agree. Because of the VNC issues, I'm having difficulties getting to the control panel to enable Remote Desktop. Otherwise, I would be using Remote Desktop. With the small size and redraw issues, the VNC route is very close to unusable.

I've tried Java 5, Java 6, both 32 and 64 bit versions of both. Upgraded Firefox to 3.0.6. None of that fixes the applet from crashing on resize. :(

Please contact our support -- they will be able to help you enable Remote Desktop. I will also submit a request to our QA team to re-check the boot graphical console support on a Mac (can you please post or PM me the versions/info -- what Mac version, FF 3.0.6, Java xxx).

I can further suggest to our product management and engineering folks to consider some sort of VPN access where you may be able to use a regular VNC client (not the Java applet).

I can confirm that the Java VNC applet works OK on Windows XP SP3 with Firefox 3.0.6 and Java 1.6.0_11-b03. What are the versions of FF / Java you have?
