I do not know if you guys are working on this or not. I was thinking of kind of a mix of softlayer and reselling. Having the ability for a reseller account on the grid, to create a user and give them allotted amount of resources. Then give that user login rights to login to the grid web interface, and use there resources as they would like, the ability of create there own appliances (or using the prefab ones), along with starting and stopping them. Then the reseller would have authority over all the appliances of all it users, for support. Then there would still be the grid controller, the master account, that would have authority over everything, like the owner of the grid.

Thanks

Also, this one may be a stretch of the imagination but, a virtual kvm. So that you could see what the monitor on the application looks like, and have keyboard and mouse control, so you could fix any problems. And of course being able to do all of from the comfort of your desktop.

Thanks

Alex,

We haven't implemented reseller accounts at this time so anyone wanting to resell AppLogic would need to work with one of our partners. If you have the right connections and were to build and support a Ruby-on-rails or LAMP environment I believe there'd be interest and we're about to announce some new monitoring features that would make it possible to easily maintain such a business.

I'll have to refer the KVM question to Peter.

Alex,

For the KVM support, will remote desktop work for you? (you can easily do that in a GSC, with the proper security...)

That sounds great, the new monitoring would be great, I know that would help the staff at layered tech, so they don't have to look through so many log files, when I asked them why it rebooted and self healed its self. (See it does work) I was just thinking it would be a great idea, even a great idea for layered tech if on there public girds, they could give administrators like us more playing room, to be able to create our own machines. I through I heard there was going to be something like this in the next version coming out this summer.

Yes remote desktop would work great in most situation, but my first question would be, what if it has a problem at boot time, would you be able to view what the error was, and use key strokes to get out of the problem or fix the problem.
