It would be helpful to have some way to inject a MOTD to edit/display for subsequent grid shell logins.

Good idea. You may be able to use the "message create (http://doc.3tera.com/AppLogic24/CliMsg.html#AnchorCreate)" command to post new messages to the dashboard. Will this help?

We can also consider some way by which shell logins will see that there are messages so that they will do "message list"

Yes, "message create" is useful... particularly so if these messages can be (optionally) made to appear on grid shell logins. Thanks.
