It would be very handy to have incremental or absolute startup times printed to the CLI and the web GUI as components are starting... and a total startup or shutdown time displayed. It would also be great to have these in the logs somewhere so that we could look for incidents when components or apps took longer to start than usual.
This would be particularly useful for Windows components where it always seems like things take longer to start than it should take.
Thanks.

Tim,
Thanks.
Here are a few things we're considering:
printing the total time it took for the component/app to start as part of the start progress output: e.g., Component xxx started (130 sec). The same info should be available in the "app/comp info" outputs, similar to the app's last started timestamp.
recording the last start time for each component and app and showing those in app/comp info during start (e.g., component x starting 45% (30 sec so far, last start was 130 sec)
giving more options of the appliance to communicate its start progress -- similar to the vme maintenance mode event
provide indication that the appliance is idle/waiting/stuck as opposed to busy booting
I will appreciate comments/suggestions.
Regards,
