One of our test grids BFC has around 200 G of space but we are doing some imaging and export from a very large image so we needed to add more memory one of the solution we thought of is to setup a second linux server with lots of space and mount it to that BFC but it seems mounting NFS shared on BFC actually crashed the BFC it just stopped working

Is it a bug or is it some thing we need to turn off before we can do that ?????

The nfs share shouldn't matter, as far as we know. Were you using the nfs mount as the install directory of the BFC, or for the replica directory? We're you doing a large copy to the nfs share when the BFC crashed?

Thanks,

Bob

what happened is we needed to export a custom application image to the controller impex folder ...but before that we had to run some ovf tool command on that application image before we do that and the image size is 500 GB so we decided to do that on the BFC server we realized that we dont have enough storage on the BFC server and we kinda short on storage so we grabbed some old desktops installed redhat and configured NFS then tried to mount it to a folder /home /mount on our BFC server to introduce that additional storage from the server on the BFC
once I tried to mount that folder the server becomes inaccessible any ideas ???

Thanks - one clarification: the BFC became inaccessible right when you tried to do the mount? Or did the mount work, and the bfc crashed when you did the copy of the 500 gb image? This situation is similar to one other issue that's been reported, but in that case the bfc did not crash until the copy to the nfs mount started. We've been unable to reproduce this, so any details like that you have would help.

the mount seems to work because didnt get any error once I run the command a fraction of a sec later the server became in accessible. didnt even started copying any thing

Ok thanks. If you can open a support ticket for this that would be great. We'd really like to see this environment and reproduce the problem if possible.
