3Tera has determined that the new Mozilla Firefox 3.0.5 upgrade does not work with AppLogic web interface. If you upgrade your Firefox, you will not be able to access the AppLogic interface.

3Tera has assigned a reference ID SCR2708 to this problem and a hotfix for all major AppLogic releases (2.1.1, 2.2.2, 2.3.9, 2.4.5) will be available shortly. The hotfix will be easy to install and will not require disruption of the grid's operation to be applied.

Technical background:
As of Firefox 3.0.5 any cloned image elements don't inherit the original's dimensions but appear to be 0x0 big. Since the AppLogic advanced Ajax interface uses the element cloning function, this change in Firefox affects the operation of AppLogic.

What versions are affected:
- All AppLogic versions up to and including 2.4.5 beta
- Only when using the Mozilla Firefox browser version 3.0.5

What to do:
- if you have a Firefox version 3.0.4 or earlier, do not upgrade to 3.0.5 until you have the SCR2708 hotfix installed on your grids
- if you have already upgraded to 3.0.5 or are installing a new Firefox, you can downgrade -- http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-3.0.4&os=win&lang=en-US has the US version for Windows; you can download version 3.0.4 of your language and OS by modifying the download URL and replace version 3.0.5 with 3.0.4
- if running on Windows, you can also use MSIE 6 or 7
- as soon as the hotfix for SCR2708 is available, have it installed on your grid

If you have questions or comments, please post them at http://forum.3tera.com/showthread.php?p=1683#post1683

If you are experiencing an emergency and the downgrade is not possible for some reason, please contact your service provider's support or our helpdesk at https://helpdesk.3tera.com/ (if you are a direct 3Tera customer, please use the escalation path if requesting assistance outside of business hours).

We hope this will not mar your holidays and we are here to help.

Regards,

we have resolved this with hotfix "hf2668" it has been released for versions 2.1.1, 2.4.5 and is not needed for the new 2.4.7 production release.

if you are a service provider you can get this hotfix as usual by syncing your release against the 3tera download repository.

if you have a VPDC contact your service provider and they can help schedule a time to get this installed, better yet lets schedule a time to upgrade you to 2.4.7 :)
