The /var/run/applogic/shell/max_webshells file somehow got changed to a value of -1. When it was reset to the default of 18 the Grid returned to a normal functioning state.

mared02,

Thanks for reporting this; we'll take a look. Any idea how it became -1? (was there anything unusual during install or before it started failing)

Thanks,
- Peter

Peter
The Grid was set up by Labs on Demand and was up and running for over 20 days. I rebooted the Grid and then the problem manifested it then. Josh Shelton from CA support informed me that there was a bug with max_webshells that it would increase at times but he never had any reports that it was ever set to -1. Refer to Star issue 20636233.
Thanks,
Ed
