Hi,

Any chance of getting these 500 errors on the forums sorted? Starting to get annoying now :(

Cheers,

Chris

Still getting the errors? I haven't seen any today.

Karl, Chris, Mike,

Thanks for reporting the issue. We recently switched our e-mail to a hosted exchange; several PHP apps seem to have a serious problem with the spam-fighting technique the new server uses -- essentially delaying the response to RCPT TO: by about 30 sec. Please bear with us while we figure out a way to resolve this; the good thing is that the messages go through.

Regards,

Ahhh, grey-listing, yes, that can cause issues, especially with a delay as long as 30s we've found that it needs to be much shorter, or it can stop legit mail getting through, even with a 10s delay some mail servers can't handle it :(

Does your grey-listing tool give you the option to whitelist the web server for the forums?

My initial reaction was... hmmm is this hosted on the grid.. it gives it a bad impression :) so yeah better fix that pesky email issue

yeah, I see where you're coming from. The issue is entirely within the 3rd party hosted MS Exchange we use, and it is not on a grid :)

Our mail is probably the only infrastructure we use that's not yet on a grid... Hmm, an idea... :D

Folks,

This should be resolved now -- we set up an MTA on one of our grids; new user registrations, PM as well as forum post subscriptions should be working fine.

Thanks for your patience
