This is a feature I would like to see. How many of you guys have had a customer that wanted a few cores, few GB of memory, and wanted to design their own cluster. or maintain their own servers.

What I want to see is a way that the user could login. You can assign the user a username/password. They can log into the grid controller or something similar, and manage their own servers. Not seeing anybody else's. but only their own.

I noticed that there is User1 User2 under attributes of an application. I was thinking something like this could work. I think bigger implication would be the controller needing more resources. I personally would be willing to throw more at it. if this sort of functionality was available.

Thanks,

Hi Michael.
A similar request has been made in the "role based" or "hierarchical security model" feature request here... among other things, assigning quotas to users/roles, etc. You might want to read through that and see if some of that applies... and if so if you have other suggestions to add to the pile:

Michael,

Yep, I think you are essentially asking for the multi-tenancy capability (on roadmap). In addition to separation of namespace/access, it should also allow setting quotas (limit of resources that a single customer can monopolize and/or is willing to pay for) and metering of the actual resources used.

Best regards,
