Hi,

After a few weeks of using AppLogic 2.3.8, we have found and resolved a number of minor issues, including some hypervisor/kernel bugs, Firefox 3.0 compatibility issues; we also added a PostgreSQL appliance. We are preparing a new build, AppLogic 2.3.9 beta which should be available by the end of next week.

Appliance changes:

BCK: The backup appliance now supports backup/restore on Nirvanix cloud storage
PGSQL: New PostgreSQL database server appliance
MON: Supports multiple groups of custom counters (new cca agent for appliances that want to report multiple groups; backward compatible with all existing appliances)

Other improvements:

Added OS icons to all appliances, so that it is easy to see in the editor which appliance runs what OS
Added support for several more hard disk, bus and NIC controllers for extended hardware support
Added support for per-server storage bigger than 2 TB

Notable bugfixes:

Fixed compatibility issues with Firefox 3.0 final (editor GUI and MON appliance). FF3.0 now works great!
Fixed some memory leaks in the web services interface of the MON monitoring appliance
Revised bandwidth resource settings for all appliances, as bandwidth resource limits are now enforced
Upgraded to a new hypervisor and kernel version resolving stability issues under high I/O load
Added required patches for supporting Broadcom NetXtreme BCM5722 network interface controller
Added required patches fixing bugs causing data corruption with 3ware 7000/8000 series disk controllers

We'll post here when the release becomes available or if there any further changes. If you are considering deploying 2.3.8, please go ahead - the upgrade will be easy.

Regards,
