This hotfix installs an updated Windows APK in Windows-based catalog and application classes and it also replaces the Windows APK in the download directory on the grid controller. The updated Windows APK provides a fix for bug#3641 in which a Windows appliance can no longer establish TCP connections due to a TCP socket resource leak in the Counter Collection Agent Daemon (CCAD). This leak occurs only when a Windows appliance's mon terminal is connected to a MON appliance that is not running (i.e., in standby).
This hotfix can be applied on any AppLogic 2.x.x grid with Windows support. A grid reboot is not required after applying the hotfix. However, the APK can only be installed on a Windows appliance that is stopped. If a Windows appliance is running, the hotfix prompts the user if they want to stop the appliance now or to skip the appliance. If the appliance update is skipped, the appliance can be updated at a later time by re-installing the hotfix once the appliance is stopped.
ALERT! Note that after the hotfix is applied, any application that has the classes that were updated using this hotfix will have their volcache boot volume rebuilt on the next application start. This means that the volumes will be destroyed and new ones will be created in their place. If modifications were made to the volcache volumes of these classes prior to applying the hotfix, either branch the class or make a backup of the changes.
When installing the hotfix, if no arguments are given, the hotfix prompts the user to update all Windows-based catalog and application classes and also updates the grid controller with the new Windows APK. Additionally, an argument entity=application|catalog:class can be specified in which case only the specified entity is updated along with the grid controller.
