I've installed on 3Tera applogic before, and have had great luck with you guys. This time around I'm using Windows and I'm not very content. Your Linux appliances rock!

After using the IIS03 drop-in-appliance I quickly noticed that the application was running horribly on the server. I performed a remote-desktop onto the server and to my horror, the CPU was looking like a Yo-yo. The culprit: perl*32.exe and ccad-bin*32.exe. And it's not consistent either. I'm not very pleased about this and I need your assistance in disabling your monitoring and counter collection tools.

What is the preferred way to install a fresh Windows 2008 install? Can you supply one? We are in 2010 here and honestly, using NTFS03 with 2008 should work fine.

Kind Regards,
Chris

In other news, I restarted my appliance on the grid, things came back up fine and the CPU was better, but it's still too busy for only handling perl*32.exe and ccad-bin*32.exe. Those files alone contribute to a nealry consistent 10-23% of my CPU usage. I have 3 CPUs allocated and 2 GB Ram on this box, so IMHO, in the CPU has no business getting used this much.

Chris,

I would like to have our support follow up with you on those - we have not seen similar behavior of Windows elsewhere. I will have one of the support engineers PM you.

You can safely disable the ccad (counter collection agent) if you don't need the monitoring data. As far as I know perl has no business running after startup.

Best regards,
