I was curious, if I'm using one of the IIS03W appliances and I have a NAS connected. What is the fastest file system I can use comfortably on that NAS? Basically, what are the benchmarks for:

NTFS03
EXT3
ZFS

etc.

Do you guys have a recommended filesystem? I'm content on any FS, but I wanted your input first.

Kind Regards,
Chris

Never mind this question, I discovered that the NAS appliances won't boot with the NTFS "data" mount point.

Chris,

The NAS appliance is Linux based and supports only Linux file systems -- ext3, reiserfs, etc. ext3 is probably the simplest. You can access the NAS appliance over http, cifs or nfs.

If you like to create a NTFS-based NAS appliance, you can, starting from one of the Windows base appliances; similarly, for ZFS, you can start from the OSOL64 appliance.
