Please close this thread.

thank you.

Actually can somebody put their 2 cents about this issue? How they go about producing an MRTG graph for each application and calculate the bandwidth utilization?

Thanks

You can setup the MON appliance and pull up bandwidth graphs with that. Will this not work? You can pull bandwidth info from your IN and OUT gateway.

If your looking to keep logs of usage and be able to pull up monthly statistics MRTG would most likely be better however. Have you setup mrtg and are having trouble or just not sure how to go about it? I've setup and currently use the grid for both mrtg and netflow stats, if you have specific questions let me know.

Yazan,

One way to do this is to MRTG-enable the the appliances that have external interfaces enable.

If you are using GSC/VPS/VPD (the much-renamed single-appliance applications that look like a dedicated server), then just installing the SNMP agent and pointing the MRTG to them.

If you are using the catalog-based gateways, then you can create your own, MRTG-enabled versions of them in your "user" catalog.

Finally, instead of having to configure MRTG manually to give it every application/appliance, you may create a small script that periodically checks what's running on the grid and creates the MRTG configuration. And, of course, you can run MRTG as an application on the grid.

We are beginning to put in some back-end features that will allow AppLogic to track that information and make it available -- but the above can be used immediately, on any release.

Does that help?
