apache log source address is outgoing gateway?

Hi all,

I have an application that is a modified version of the LampCluster app, and I'm finding that a very large portion of the hits to my web app are registered by apache as coming from the main.net device in my app. Can anyone tell me why that would be? Note that I have not ever even logged into this device, ever. It's exactly as configured for the LampCluster app. I thought this device was dedicated to outgoing traffic? I'll go back and read the docs, but if anyone can clarify this for me, that would be great.

You are correct, the NET gateway is configured to be an outbound traffic connection. The only way traffic should be allowed in is through an established request that was initiated internally... Even then this should not register as a hit on your web app. I would like to see the information on these hits (header info and whatnot) Maybe we can figure out why this is happening. Could you send me some of the lines from you log revolving around these hits?
