This hotfix disables storage failure detection in AppLogic 2.7.8. There have been an increase in the reported number of hard drive failures since the deployment of AppLogic 2.7.8 grids. It has been observed that the failures occur during the execution of the smartd tests as part of the storage failure detection support. Until further research and testing can be performed, 3tera is recommending that the storage failure detection be disabled on all AppLogic 2.7.8 grids.
