hf1248 is an optional hotfix for AppLogic 2.1.1, 2.4.10, and 2.7.8 and cannot be used with other versions of AppLogic. The hotfix updates binaries on the server. If installed on a running grid, a grid reboot is not required after applying the hotfix.
By default in all AppLogic releases, the maximum per server volume repair speed is 200 MB/sec. If volumes are repaired at a very high speed, the volume repairs could affect the performance of the applications running on the grid. hf1248 is provided for a maintainer to modify the repair speed in order to avoid performance degredation caused by the volume repairs. 3tera recommends a minimum and a maximum repair speed of 10 MB/sec.
