I learned that Applogic doesn't add windows VDS or windows appliance to the catalog because of the license! Why not shipping the catalog with a trial version of windows 2008 or 2003 appliance since its only a trial license and Microsoft made it available for every one to try and if any one want to use a licensed product they can use their licensees later and I dont think that will cause any licensing problem I m just assuming I m not familiar with all the ins and outs about the licensing so I m asking why 3 Tera doesnt apply or use that option since windows server is really important appliance ?

tamir,

This is a really good idea. Our main concern was with getting people appliances they can use in production -- it will be really nasty to get you started quickly and then all of a sudden have the appliance stop working. But we haven't looked at the trial licenses for a while, so we will research the trial license / discuss with our MSFT reps how we can provide continuity.

In the meantime, we will be happy to help you with building your own; also I believe that is going to be part of the lab at our upcoming Architect's Bootcamp (see http://forum.3tera.com/showthread.php?t=2191 for details and registration link)

Regards,

Tamir,

Welcome back!

Yes, we are making progress on Windows licensing in general. I don't have anything to post on this yet but as soon as I have definitive information I will.

Best regards,
- Peter
