It appears that troubles do come in threes -- here's the third problem we've identified.
We have identified the following problem in AppLogic 2.4.7 and 2.4.8 releases (2.1 is not affected): after 3.5 weeks of grid's operation, the grid controller may fail during application start/build if the application uses one or more appliances that use the 2.1-style configuration mode (volfix). The problem is not triggered when starting/building applications using the new style (dhcp).
Our engineers have traced the issue to a counter overflow in the hypervisor's diagnostic facilities. A hotfix is going to be prepared.
The issue may be also alleviated by converting the volfix-style appliances to dhcp-style -- a conversion procedure for your own appliances will be posted here shortly. You can read about the new dhcp-style configuraiton at http://doc.3tera.com/AppLogic24/AdvAPKUserManual.html (is is part of the appliance kit APK).
Note that the issue may affect not only the controller but also cause failures in other appliances, so the hotfix, when available, should be applied to all 2.4.7/.8 grids, even if you don't use volfix-style appliances.
If you have any questions, please post here or contact our helpdesk.
Regards,
