Hi,
We have prepared an AppLogic 2.4.9 release, a minor upgrade for AppLogic 2.4.7 and 2.4.8; it rolls up a number of hotfixes and makes it easy to maintain 2.4 production systems. The release is currently being tested for final approval; if all tests pass, it will be released later this week.
Considering that most of the important 2.4.7/2.4.8 hotfixes require grid reboot -- we recommend upgrade to 2.4.9 instead. Such upgrade will have approximately the same amount of grid downtime as applying a single hotfix, but leave the grid in a more manageable state (to do such faster upgrade, either use the two-phase upgrade or use ' ai="" ci="" ' options on upgrade (details in the release notes).
AppLogic 2.4.9 will have all 2.4.8 hotfixes rolled up, plus a few other important fixes that will not be made available as hotfixes to 2.4.7/2.4.8. The key additional fix is a configuration error that can lead to the hypervisor allocating memory from the server's kernel, thus depleting the amount of resources available to the AppLogic kernel and resulting in reduced performance/server crash. The effect has been observed quite rarely and is more pronounced in grids that are used as shared platforms with large number of customers and applications running on each server.
Thanks to all who reported the issues and worked with us to diagnose and resolve them successfully!
Best regards,
