Welcome to Architects' Corner - a forum for discussing application architecture for applications under AppLogic.

One of the goals of AppLogic is to help bring the next generation of IT -- making IT objects first class entities that are easy to use, maintenance-free and standardized.

While AppLogic covers most aspects of traditional distributed application architecture (and we'll be doing more for backward compatibility), there are some new and exciting capabilities. Appliance classes, assemblies, object composition can be daunting at times. They also make some good architectures simpler but different from what "best practices" in the traditional world have accumulated -- simply because even better practices were not possible or too hard to manage without AppLogic.

Architects may be mild-mannered people -- but I haven't met such. Architect's work is hard: creating something from nothing, with many options and unclear priorities; choices have far-reaching consequences that are not visible ahead of time. God's complex is a tool for survival. Architects' Corner is a place you will see personality clashes, higher blood pressure, heated discussions. If you're easily offended, keep out.

This forum is dedicated to the 10,000 ft. view, discussing ways to build redundancy, better modularity and reuse, explicit interactions, less coding and new patterns. If you have a question or have an interesting approach, please post it here.

Enjoy!

PS. To seed this forum, I have moved a few more interesting architecture-related threads from other places. New architecture-related topics will be posted here.
