We are about to start building a RoR appliance and would like some feedback from our users to ensure we are on the right track (as we are not a RoR shop).
To begin with, the standard deployment has been with Apache/nginx + mongrel/thin, but more recently the preferred method uses mod_rails. Has mod_rails proved itself suitable for production deployments? Does it present a significant barrier in a standard RoR appliance when existing applications have been deployed using the traditional methods?
Any other comments regarding the development/boundary of a RoR appliance would be welcome.
