Mandatory Hotfixes
The following hotfixes are now available for AppLogic 2.4.7 and required to be installed for proper operation of the grid:
hf2761 - Resolves several issues found in AppLogic 2.4.7 (2280, 2727, 2736, 2738, 2745, 2753). Since this hotfix affects the server installations, it needs to be reapplied on any servers added to the grid. We recommend upgrading to AppLogic 2.4.8 (see note below). Requires full grid reboot on initial install, and server reboot on new servers, when applied for servers added to the grid.
hf2794 - Resolves issue with comp start/restart incorrectly failing because of insufficient resources. Also, updates grids not to resend metering report every minute on failure. This hotfix can be applied without affecting the operation of the grid or any of its applications.
hf2814 - Resolves issue with grids rebooting under heavy block I/O on the grid controller. Requires that hf2761 is installed first. This hotfix can be applied without affecting the operation of the grid or any of its applications (provided that hf2761 has been installed and the system rebooted after it).
Note:
Hotfix hf2761 includes several bug fixes, including one that could lead to server failure on any server; the fix itself needs to be re-applied on any new servers added to the grid and those servers need to be rebooted before they are put to use. Due to the inconvenience that this causes -- and the high likelihood of missing the follow-on hotfixes, we have released AppLogic 2.4.8 which incorporates all bug fixes resolved by hf2761. For all new installations, we recommend using AppLogic 2.4.8. Also, instead of applying hf2761, we recommend upgrading to 2.4.8 if this is an option (since both operations require reboot, the upgrade causes only slightly longer downtime); since the appliance catalogs and application templates are unchanged, it is possible to speed up the upgrade from 2.4.7 to 2.4.8 using the "ai= ci= " options on the upgrade command line.
Optional Hotfixes
The following hotfixes are also available for Applogic 2.4.7; they are optional and should be installed only when their effect is desired on the particular grid:
hf2668 - enables bandwidth oversubscription (appliances may use more bandwidth than their configured bandwidth). Requires full grid reboot on initial install, and server reboot on new servers, when applied for servers added to the grid.
e2677 - Enable Windows support for AppLogic 2.4.7 grids. Superseded by e2772
e2772 - Enable Windows support for AppLogic 2.4.7 grids. This hotfix supersedes e2677. This hotfix can be installed without disrupting the grid's operation. The hotfix adds third-party products that require additional license fees -- please contact your provider for details.
e2441 - Add support for Xsigo I/O director VNICs (Infiniband)
